Dear SNAAZ Members,
School Lunch Hero Day is just one week away! Make Friday, May 7 an extra special celebration this year to recognize the heroic efforts of school nutrition professionals across the country as they continue to do whatever it takes to feed America’s kids on the frontlines of a global pandemic. If you need a little help, SNA has many recognition ideas on the website. Be sure to capture the big moment on social media with the hashtag #SchoolLunchHero—we may share your content!
You can also use all the colorful new artwork on social media to create some buzz. Pick your favorite characters! Get the rest of your school, district and community on board with the help of our customizable press release and proclamation.
Get students and teachers involved with a free webinar on how to draw on the big day at 1:00 pm EDT hosted by none other than Jarrett Krosoczka, author, artist and creator of the Lunch Lady and her cast of characters! Jarrett will teach students how to draw their own lunch heroes (how fun is that!) and put a focus on all of the hard work being done to feed kids during the Covid-19 pandemic. Do you have School Lunch Hero Day artwork that you would like to share? Upload photos to www.SchoolLunchHeroDay.com, and the artwork may become a part of the show!
There is still time to order themed decorations and gifts for your heroes from the SNA School Lunch Hero Day Shop, but time is running out, so be sure to place your order no later than Monday, May 3 to ensure your heroes receive their gifts in time.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
