Tell Congress: Release Emergency Funding for School Meal Programs

School meal programs across the country are facing serious financial challenges as food, labor, and operating costs continue to rise. While school nutrition professionals work every day to ensure students have access to healthy meals, many programs are struggling to cover their costs.

Recently, the School Nutrition Association urged the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to release Section 32 funds for emergency per-meal reimbursements. That request was backed by more than 3,500 school nutrition professionals who signed a national petition calling for immediate relief.

Now it’s time for Congress to hear directly from you.

Take two minutes to contact your Members of Congress and ask them to urge OMB Director Russell Vought and USDA to release these critical funds. Consider adding a personal note about the financial challenges your program is facing and how rising costs are affecting students and schools in your community.

Every voice helps demonstrate the urgent need for relief.
