Known for his dynamic, interactive, and humorous speaking style, author, school nutrition director, and professional speaker, Fred “The Fit Food Dude” Schafer specializes in moving people to remarkable professional and personal results.
Fred has been a keynote speaker at over 75 state SNA Conferences in 48 states nationwide from Alaska to Florida with outstanding reviews. Additionally, he has been a California Classified Manager of the Year, was nationally recognized for best school nutrition recruiting and retention practices and was a Sacramento California Businessperson of the Year.
He earned his B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Foodservice Management and a Masters in Wellness Promotion from California College Health Sciences. He is also a Master Certified Health Education Specialist, Certified Functional Aging Specialist, School Nutrition Specialist, and a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer.
Fred is a member of the National School Nutrition Association and the California School Nutrition Association. Most importantly, he has been a high-performance School Nutrition Director in Redding, California since 1994.
