Supervises assigned food service personnel (e.g. coordinating schedules, provides training, evaluating, etc) for the purpose of maximizing the productivity of the work force, providing adequate coverage, ensuring adherence to health, safety and nutritional standards of food services operations, and providing input to the Director of Food Services for evaluation of personnel.
Transports various items (e.g. catering supplies, POS equipment, etc) for the purpose of providing provisions at job site and between school sites to complete tasks.
Responsibilites include, working under limited supervision using standardized practices and / or methods, directing other persons within a department ,large work unit, and or/acros several small work units, and supervising the use of funds. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job’s functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the Organization’s services.
Coordinates training and retraining of all food services staff (e.g. reimbursable meals, food preparation, health standards, sanitation, methods, etc) for the purpose of ensuring quality standards within the FS Dept and supporting the school Principal.
Develops an up-to-date nutrition program (e.g. implementing new procedures, products, and equipment, etc) for the purpose of maintaining a knowledgeable, committed and capable food service staff.
Maintains an up-to-date, uniform and comprehensive nutrition program for the purpose of ensuring the health, safety and nutritional standards of food service operations.
Monitors nutrition program (e.g. through regular, documented inspections, skills assessments, etc) for the purpose of ensuring success in the child nutrition program. Checks meal counts against POS system and production workbook for accuracy.
Takes an active role in all aspects of the catering program (e.g. coordinating, assigning staff, assessing and ordering product) for the purpose of meeting catering needs throughout the district, working evenings as directed.
Oversees all aspects of the summer meal program (e.g. documentation, staffing, monitoring, etc) for the purpose of ensuring that department standards are met in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with state, federal, health department and district requirements, and for ensuring that required reports are submitted.
Performs functions for other positions within area of responsibility for the purpose of ensuring adequate coverage of food service operations. Become familiar with every phase of the operation, dealing with emergency problems relating to operations, quality and safety of food.
Performs inspections (e.g. all sites) for the purpose of monitoring the effectiveness of the nutrition program, measuring results against established standards.
Prepares a variety of reports (e.g. staff schedules assessments, inspections, etc) for the purpose of conveying information and/or documenting actions as required by the district, health department, state and/or requirements.
Promotes food service operations and special events for the purpose of expanding services and developing nutritional habits in students.
Replace manager for the purpose of filling in as needed.
