SNA Certificate Program – New Bridge Level

Launching July 2018

In July 2018, SNA will launch an additional Level to the Certificate in School Nutrition program that will serve as a “bridge” between Level 1 and Level 2. The goal of this new Level 2, would be to help members have a more realistic professional development path and help them strive toward continued growth and experiences beyond Level 1 requirements.

The new Level 2 will require 46 hours, which is less than the current Level 2 requirement of 86 hours. View details about the requirements for the new Level 2.

How to Earn Your SNA Certificate

Earning your Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 SNA Certificate in School Nutrition shows your commitment to your profession and helps you stay current on the job. SNA’s Certificate Program is based on the standards of practice in SNA’s Keys to Excellence Program and, SNA’s Certificate Program aligns with USDA Professional Standards.

How to Change Certificate Levels

Certificate holders may move from one level to another by earning the additional academic requirements or key area training required for the next level. If you change certificate levels, you will be given a new certificate expiration date. You also will be expected to meet the CEU requirements and fees for the new level at that expiration date.

Learn How To Earn / Calculate CEUs

CEUs are Continuing Education Units. The purpose of CEUs is to provide job-related professional development and growth experiences.

Annual training (earning CEUs) is a requirement for both USDA Professional Standards and maintaining your Certificate in School Nutrition or SNS Credential.
